According to the termites service plan due this month, I already scheduled with the pest control company to let them come and check the termites at our house. สำหรับ Schedule มีหลายความหมายนะคะ ซึ่งแต่ละความหมายจะขึ้นอยู่กับบริบทของประโยคนั้นๆเช่น

คำว่า schedule ในประโยคนี้หมายถึง To make a schedule of or place in a schedule: ก็คือจะจัดตารางเวลาให้
  I will mange your game time and study time for you.
คำว่า manage ในประโยคนี้หมายถึง To direct or control the use of; handle ก็คือเป็นคนจัดการเรื่องเวลาให้
 
        แล้วในประโยค I already scheduled with the pest control company   ใช้ manage แทน schedule  ได้
 

สำหรับในประโยคนี้ I already scheduled an appoinment with the pest control company ไม่น่าจะใช้ manage แทนได้นะคะเพราะ คำว่า schedule ในประโยคนี้มีความหมายว่า  To plan or appoint for a certain time or date คือเป็นการนัดเวลากัน ซึ่งความหมายไม่เหมือนกับ schedule ข้างบนค่ะ

    แต่จะพูดว่า  the the cable/cord/line/wire is damaged / broken / faulty  แทนหรือเพราะว่าความหมายจะครอบคลุมกว่า

    ( ตอนแรกเข้าใจว่า electrical shock  คือทั้งไฟช้อต และไฟดูด   เลยได้ศัพท์ใหม่เพิ่ม   electrocute )

   ส่วน  go on living   =  ใช้ชีวิตต่อไป    เราสามารถพูดสั้นๆและจบแบบนี้ได้ก็เข้าใจความหมายแล้ว  ใช่ไหมค่ะ

   ถ้าเราพูดว่า keep doing =  ทำต่อไป   สามารถใช้ว่า  go on doing  ได้ไหมค่ะ

 

4.  ถ้าเราผ่านปัญหาหรือเหตุการณ์มาแล้ว   ก็จะใช้ว่า    We got past it   ได้ไหมค่ะ

->  ประโยคนี้มาจากคำว่า  "happen to do something"  ซึ่ง =  "บังเอิญทำอะไรบางสิ่งบางอย่าง"  ครับ  If you happen to touch it  จึงหมายถึง  หากลูก"บังเอิญ" ไปจับมัน  

    happen to fall down/ get sick/ etc.  ก็ได้ครับหากต้องการสื่อว่า  "บังเอิญ...."

     fix a date  คือ  การกำหนดวัน หรือนัดวันที่แน่นอน

   ถ้าเราพูดว่า keep doing =  ทำต่อไป   สามารถใช้ว่า  go on doing  ได้ไหมค่ะ

 ->  go on living  = ใช้ชีวิตต่อไป ครับ   ส่วน keep + verb ing.  จะหมายถึง ทำสิ่งที่ทำอยู่ต่อไปซ้ำๆ ไปเรื่อย    จะไม่เหมือน go on + verb ing. ทีเดียวนัก  อย่างเช่น   ทำไมต้องให้แม่เตือนอยู่เรื่อย ๆ =  Why do I have to keep reminding you all the time?  จะไม่ใช้ go on     

    go on + verb ing. ใช้เมื่อทำอะไรอยู่แล้ว แล้วก็ทำต่อไป  ครับ

 

4.  ถ้าเราผ่านปัญหาหรือเหตุการณ์มาแล้ว   ก็จะใช้ว่า    We got past it   ได้ไหมค่ะ

ขอตอบของคุณแม่น้องฟินน์ กับคุณรัชนีทีเดียวนะครับ:

1.  happen to + verb. infinitive with to  = by chance   เพราะ happen to จะสื่อไปทาง "chance" หรือ "coincidence" 

  แต่ถ้าเปรียบเทียบ accidentally แบบหลังจะมีความหมายแตกต่างไปในทางที่ว่าไม่คิด ไม่อยาก จะเจอ/ทำ/พบ  แต่ก็ต้องมาเจอ   เช่น  I happened to see him yesterday down the road.  จะหมายถึง ไม่ได้คิดอะไร แต่บังเอิญเจอ  ส่วน I accidentally saw him down the road. = ไม่คิดอยากเจอ  แต่ก็ต้องมาเจอ  ความหมายก็ต่างกันนิดหน่อยแบบนี้ครับ

   ส่วน unexpectedly  จะสื่อไปในทาง "surprising"  มากกว่าบังเอิญ หรือ โดยอุบัติเหตุครับ

 

**อีกอย่างหนึ่ง  "happen to"  นอกจากจะหมายถึงบังเอิญแล้ว  ยังใช้ในประโยคคำถามเพื่อเป็นการถามอย่างสุภาพ แบบหนึ่ง ด้วยครับ เช่น  "Excuse me, do you happen to know where the toilet is?"

 

2. go on  จะไม่เหมือน move on  เพราะ go on = continue doing something = ทำอะไรบางอย่างไปเรื่อย ๆ   และใช้ในรูป  "go on + v.ing"

   move on จะหมายถึง พัฒนาขึ้น/ดีขึ้น/เปลี่ยนแปลงไป  ไม่ต้องมี verb ใด ๆ มาตาม  เช่น 

   - After 5 years of working in her company, she had decided to call it quits and moved on.  (= หลังจากทำงานมาที่บริษัทเธอมา 5 ปี  เธอก็ตัดสินใจลาออกเพราะพอแล้ว และก็เดินหน้าไปทำอย่างอื่น ๆ)

    ( call it quits = เลิกทำอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง/ลาออกจากงาน เพราะพอแล้ว เบื่อแล้ว)

 

    - By the time we have 3G mobile service, other countries will have already moved on.  (= ก่อนที่เราจะมี 3G, ประเทศอื่นๆ ก็น่าจะพัฒนาไปกว่าเราแล้ว)
