หมู่บ้านเด็กสองภาษา พ่อแม่สร้างได้ - สองภาษาดอทคอม

แม่แอมสับสนการใช้คำศัพท์เกี่ยวกับ " ระวัง "watch out , beware , be careful

beware , be careful

บางที่แม่แอมก็ใช่ beware the car is comming. / be careful the car is comming .

Good question.

"Watch out" is used when something serious, bad or dangerous is close by or coming towards you.

For example:
- Watch out for that motorcycle. It's driving very fast.
- Watch out! There is a tree in the road.
- Watch out! There is a snake in the grass.
- Watch out! The tree is falling.

"Beware" is often used to give warnings for things that aren't happening right now but could happen sometime.

For example:
- Beware of ghosts.
- Beware of falling rocks.
- You should beware of your brother when he is feeling grumpy. He could hit you.

"Be careful" is a little bit softer than "Watch out!" and is also used more for warnings.

For example:
- Be careful when you cross the road.
- There is a motorcycle coming. Be careful.
- Please be careful with Mommy. If you want to play rough, go play with your Dad.

The easiest way to remember it is:
"Watch out!" is for serious things that are about to happen.
"Beware" is for warnings about things that are not about to happen.
"Be careful" is less emotional than "Watch out!"

I usually use "be careful". I almost never use "beware" or "watch out".
I got it. I have been confused to use. Thank you my teacher. More i see you more i love you. You are very kind.
That's very nice. Thank you very much. I am happy to help you any time.
Watch out - the danger is real and here now.
e.g. Watch out! That car is going to hit you.

Be careful - the danger could happen, though isn't here now.
e.g. Be careful when you go to Thailand.
Be careful when you do the exam. (the "danger" in this case is getting the answer wrong)

Beware is usually used on signposts to highlight a potential danger.
e.g. Beware of the dog
Beware falling rocks.
Short and simple. Thanks.
That 's very clear. Thanks แม่เอม & both of our nice teachers
เข้าใจมากขึ้นเลยค่ะ I usually use be careful in every situation. Now I already have another word for talking with my kid.Thank you.
