ตะแคง/หูหนวก

1.ถ้าหนูโหนด้านข้างของรถเข็นแบบนี้ รถเข็นอาจจะตะแคงข้าง แล้วลมลงได้นะคะ (รถเข็นในห้างค่ะ ขู่ไว้ก่อนค่ะ)

2.หนูทำเสียงจุ๊บที่้หูแม่แบบนี้ มันดังมาก หูอาจหนวกได้

-  If you hold on to the side of the trolley (หรือ shopping cart) like this, it can tip over (หรือ turn over) and you will get hurt.

("tip over"  =  turn over = ตะแคงข้าง แล้วล้มลง)

  คำว่า "tip  +  preposition"  มีความหมายไปใช้ได้หลาย ๆ แบบนะครับ  เช่น:

  -  He is sleeping in the car.  His head is tipping forward and to all sides.  (เขานอนอยู่บนรถ หัวก็ผงกไปข้างหน้าบ้าง ข้าง ๆ บ้าง) 

  -  Can you drink, sweetie?  Just tip the bottle up and drink from the bottle slowly.  (ลูกดื่มได้ไม๊จ๊ะ  ลองยกขวดนมตะแคงขึ้นแล้วค่อย ๆ ดื่มนะ)

  -  Sit well, don't tip the chair back on its two legs like that!  (นั่งดี ๆ   อย่านั่งบนเก้าอี้เอนไปข้างหลัง 2 ขาแบบนั้น)

-  The จุ๊บ ๆ sound you're making right on my ears is so loud.  It can deafen me.    หรือ 

-  The จุ๊บ ๆ sound you're making is so deafening to me ears.  It can damage my ears.

แบบประโยคแรก  "deafen" [v.] = ทำให้หูหนวก;     แบบที่ 2  "deafening" [adj.] เสียงที่ดังมากจนแทบทำให้เราไม่ได้ยินอะไรอย่างอื่น ทำนอง ดังแก้วหูแทบแตก

ถ้ารถตะแคง  The car turned over/ The car tipped over.

ถ้ารถคว่ำแบบเอาท้องรถขึ้น  The car turned upside down.

เคยจำได้ว่า  คุณเอกอธิบายเรื่อง  turn over ไว้

     หากหงายมืออยู่ แล้วบอกให้ turn it over ก็จะหมายถึงให้คว่ำฝ่ามือลง แต่หากคว่ำมืออยู่บอก turn it over ก็จะหมายถึงให้  หงายมือ   -   ในกรณีนี้  turn it over  ไม่ใช่การตะแคง  แต่คือการคว่ำลงหรือหงายขึ้น  หรือว่าเราต้องรูปประโยคโดยรวมด้วย

1.  Turn over :  To bring the bottom to the top or vice versa (จาก thefreedictionary.com)  อันนี้หมายถึงหงายเป็นคว่ำ คว่ำเป็นหงาย 

2.  Turn over: a. To shift the position of, as by rolling from one side to the other.(จากfreedictionary.com)

                      b. To shift one's position by rolling from one side to the other.

        หรือ  "falling down"  from an upright position into a position of lying on a surface (จาก Longman dictionary)  

                      =  อันนี้คือล้มลง จากที่ตั้งอยู่ ล้มไปข้าง ๆ จะตะแคงข้างไหนก็แล้วแต่  

    

ที่มาก็เป็นตามนี้ครับ   "tip over"  ก็มีความหมายเหมือนกับ "turn over"  แบบที่ 2  ครับ

เพิ่งรู้เรื่อง 2 ความหมายของ turn over เหมือนกันค่ะ

แล้วก็ลองไปเช็คการออกเสียงคำว่า trolley ออกเสียงผิดมาตลอดอีก เห็นคำว่า ley ออก เลย์ เฉยเลยเรา แฮะๆ
