Hi everyone

I was recently invited to start my own page on this site by a teacher who, some of you will know, I have had a difference of opinion with over approaches to teaching. As he asked so nicely, how could I refuse?

Though I am no longer an English teacher, I did spend several years teaching English in Thailand before returning to the UK. Hopefully I should be able to help anyone who has a question to find the answer. I am also a student of the Thai language, so I know that learning a language takes time and patience. Perhaps you guys will be kind enough to help me too when I have a question?! If you feel more comfortable posting your questions in Thai, instead of English, that's no problem and if I get stuck, I can always ask Ple to help me out:). Sometimes I might post an answer that some of you might disagree with. If I do, then let me know and we can explore the language together. Asking questions and disagreeing over topics is a very important part of learning anything.

I live in England now with my wife Ple and our two children, Sebastian, 6, and Emily, 4. We moved back here five years ago and live in the north in a town called Huddersfield. It isn't the most exciting place in the world but it is where I am from originally.

Thanks for your comments. I have to say I never had any intention of entering such a debate, but now I have, I hope we can all move on and have some good, happy conversations. You are right, Southampton is a bit far from Huddersfield and much sunnier too I'm sure, though not quite Phuket :D Hve you been in Southampton a long time?
