My English is not nearly as perfect as native speakers. I would compare how I write and speak to average elementary school students in the U.S. I make grammatical mistakes here and here...and possibly all over the place. I’m not a good role model for anyone who want to write impeccably well but I’m certainly a good influence on how you can achieve the talking skill. You know why? Because I m just an English learner like you.
In this episode, I will talk a little bit about my other approach in English first. Many of you may have doubts about my credibility and whether these methods are effective. So the first half of this will be in English. I was talking about writing skill and how it could be achieved through learning in the last episode. And by learning, you will have to make notes of what you have seen or heard that are unfamiliar to you.
Before I go to bed every night, I would read a world history book which was meant for elementary school children and I would look up the words if I didn’t know the definition. This book was written in a conversational tone so when I was reading about the history of England, it would be as if I was being talked to in a class room. I’ve learnt how to speak in English in the history context. I can say who did what in what year without having to compile a sentence in my head. Anyway, but that s another story that I m going to tell you next.....
