พูดถึง dish ให้ลองนึกถึงจานดาวเทียมนะค่ะ เค้าก็เรียก dish เหมือนกัน คือมันจะโค้งๆ ไม่แบน
แต่โดยทั่วไปแล้ว dish กับ plate ก็ใช้ได้เหมือนๆกันคือเค้าไม่กังวลมากกว่าอันไหนเป็น dish อันไหนเป็น plate ยกเว้น Bowl ที่จะแตกต่างมากหน่อย

food prepared in a particular way as part of a meal
a chicken/vegetarian dish

dish noun (CONTAINER)
a container, flatter than a bowl and sometimes with a lid, from which food can be served or which can be used for cooking
