fog หมายถึงหมอก เป็นหมอกหนา มักจะเกิดขึ้นในตอนเช้า

mist เป็นหมอกที่บางกว่า fog มักจะอยู่ที่สูงๆ ตามยอดเขา

haze เป็นหมอกในลักษณะควัน หรือไอที่ลอยขึ้นมาเนื่องจากความร้อน มักจะเกิดตามชายเขา
