- Coming through. (,please) ขอทาง ในที่ที่มีคนอยู่เเน่นเเออัด / Please let me pass through (often said by someone trying to get through a crowd of people, as in a passenger way or an elevator.
Tom: Coming through, please.
Sue: Give him some rooms. He wants to get by.

- (Things) could be better เป็นคำตอบที่ใช้ตอบในการทักทายกัน ในกรณี่ที่ผู้ตอบต้องการสื่อความหมายประมาณว่า ' อะไรๆ น่าจะดีกว่าที่เป็นอยู่นี้ ' /Things might be better. A greeting inquiry response meaning 'My state is not as good as it might be.'
John: How are thingห going, Fred?
Fred: Things could be better. And you?
John: About the same.

- Could (Can /May) I be excused? ขอตัวลาไปจากตรงนั้น / Would you give me permission to leave (the table)?
Jim: I'm finished, Mom. Could I be excused?
Mom: Yes, of course when you use good manners like that.

- Could (Can/ May) I buy you a drink? ขอเลี้ยงเครื่องดื่ม (เเอลกอฮอล์ล) / Could I purchase a drink for you? (An offer by one person-usually in a bar-to buy a drink for an other.
Then the two will drink together.
When Sally and Mary met accidently in the hotel bar, Sally said to Mary " Could I buy you a drink."

- Could I get you something? (to drink) จัดหาเครื่องดื่มให้ / An expression offering a drink
Bill: Hi! Alice. Come on in! Can I get you something to drink?
Alice: Just a little soda, if you don't mind. (soda ในที่นี้ มีความหมายถึง นำ้อัดลมทุกชนิด)
