Speaking English with your child can be difficult and boring. Here are some things you can do to make it fun.
G-G-G-G-Game: choose one word, for example "Jump". You say "j-j-j-j-jump" and then jump. Pick the next word, for example "pencil". You say "p-p-p-p-p-pencil". Pick the next word, for example "lion". You say "l-l-l-l-l-lion." Keep going. You can start with an "A" word and go through the alphabet, or you can take any word you like.
If you can, try to make a dance for each letter. For example, if you want to say a "j" word you can put your arms up and swing them when you say "j-j-j-j". If you say a "p" word, you can put your hands on your hips and move your hips when you say "p-p-p-p-p".
With this game, both you and your child can practice vocabulary and pronunciation.
Plastic Bag: get one plastic bag. It you have a fabric bag that is better, but if you don't you can use a plastic bag. Walk around the house with your child and let them pick small things to put in the bag. If your child is too small to pick things, you can pick the things and show them up to your child before putting them in the bag. You can tell your child what the thing is when it is going into the bag. For example, "This is a spoon". When you have 5-10 things in your bag, take the bag and your child into your family room and sit down. Now take the things out of the bag, one at a time. You can ask your child "What's this?" If they can't answer you can help them. "It's a spoon".
With this game you and your child can practice questions and vocabulary.
Stop!: This is an action game. You must play with your child for this to be fun. You say "Jump!" and you jump, jump, jump, jump with your child. When you are jumping you say "Stop!" and stop jumping right away. Try to stop while you are jumping and keep your face and body the same as right before you jump. It should look funny. Now say "Eat!" and you pretend to eat, eat, eat, eat. When your hand is near your mouth say "Stop!" Hold your hand in front of your open mouth. Now say "Dance" and you dance, dance, dance. Say "Stop!" and stop dancing when you have your body in a funny dance move. You can keep saying new actions and doing them. Then say "Stop! and try to make it look funny.
With this game you and your child can practice actions. You can always put a new word in the game when you learn a new action. It is an easy way to teach your child new verbs because they will hear and say and do the verb/action many times in a row. It is also a good way to train your child to stop when you say "stop!"
I hope you have fun.
