Sky train

Mom : Today, we gonna take the train to school.

 Are you excited?

Kid : Wow! I would love to take the train.

Mom : First we have to take the sky train and get off at Si lom. Then we will change to (take*) the subway and then walk around 5 min. to get to school.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Mom : Let’s take the stairs

Kid : Oh! They’re too high. I want to take the elevator instead

Mom : But the elevator is for people in wheelchairs only, not you. Understand?

Kid : But my legs are tired.

Mom : In that case, it’s O.K then.

………………………………………………………………………………….………………….

Escalator

Mom : Hold the handrail firmly. Don’t walk or run. O.K?

Kid : I want to get pass my brother/ I want to go in front of him.(อยากวิ่งแซงหน้าพี่ชายที่เดินตรงบันไดเลื่อน)

……………………………………………………………………………………………………….

At platform

Mom : Never run on the platform. It’s very dangerous. You might fall onto the track. When the train comes it might cut off your legs.

You will not be able/have legs to walk anymore. Do you want that? I am sure you don’t want that.

Kid : Do you really mean it.

Mom : Yes. I am not kidding. You might die and I would be really sad.I don’t want that to happen to you.(ขู่หนักๆเอาไว้ เพราะไม่อยากเจอเหมือนเด็กหญิงคนนั้นที่ตกรางรถไฟที่สิงคโปร์)

Mom : The train is coming. Stay behind the yellow line/Don’t cross the yellow line.

Kid : Let me get in first (he tries to push in)

Mom : No, No you have to let people get off first . Don’t block the way. You might get bumped/knocked and fall down.

Don’t stand in the middle. Please stand at the side. Please look at this arrow on the floor. Please stand right here. O.K

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

In the train

Mom : Stand right here and hold the pole too. Please stand still. Don’t swing your body. See! Your bag is bumping/hitting other people.

Please say sorry to her now.

(One man lets my son sits/ gives my son his seat)

Mom : Honey. Please say thank you to him. He let you sit on his seat. He is nice. When you grow up you should act like this too.

Kid : (Shakes his legs)

Mom : No, No Don’t keep kicking your legs. See! You’re kicking the people (standing*) in front of you.

            Say sorry to her now.

Kid : (Puts his feet up on the seat)

Mom :No, No Put your feet down. See! your dirty shoes are touching the people beside you/ are touching the other people. Please sit still. And face the front.

Kid : Mom I want to watch the television but I can’t see it.

Mom : You are too short. People are blocking your view. So don’t look just listen to the television. O.K?

Kid : Mom . I am thirsty.

Mom : No, you are not allowed to drink in the train or in the station area.

Don’t be so demanding/Don’t be so difficult. You want this you want that. It’s annoying.

(Next station Silom)

Mom :Please get ready to get off at the next station.

Let’s stand near (to) the door so that we can get off easily.

When you ask the way you should say “excuse me” too

Mom : Now let’s change to the subway

……………………………………………………………….

Subway.

Mom : Please buy your ticket first.

Put the coins in here and then the token will come out.

The token is one kind of ticket too. It doesn’t need to always be a card. Got it!

Mom : I don’t have enough coins so I need to change a note at the counter.

Mom : O.K I’ve got some. Would you like to try to buy your ticket from the ticket machine.

………………………………………………………

Passing the barrier

-Let me help you pass the barrier

-I’ll touch the card and when you see the barrier open, you have to walk quickly otherwise you might get hit by it.

-The security guard will let us/is letting us pass the special way/is letting us through the barrier because it ‘s more convenient. And he will take the card(s) from us.

-If you are taller than the height limit/minimum height you have to buy a ticket too.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

This is a token (โชว์ให้ลูกดู ถือไว้เหรียญเดียว) We use it to pass though the gate.

2.     Tap the token on the sensor to open the door.

3. Line barrier/ queue barrier

4. Ok ka.

5. Daddy is holding the handrail/handle in order to be safe.

6. That man/woman gave his/her seat to us.

This guy devoted his seat to us.

This guy has just devoted his seat to us.

This guy devotes his seat to us.

*****  คำว่า devote ใช้กับ to ค่ะ ไม่ใช่ for

devote sth to sth/sb    กดดูอ้างอิงได้ตามนี้ค่ะ devote sth to sth/b

I will take MRT to Orchard staion.

I will take a train to Town Hall Station.
