restrain/ needle mark

1. หนูไม่ชอบให้พ่อแม่ล๊อคแขนล๊อคขาเวลาฉีดวัคซีน แต่เราต้องทำเพราะถ้าหนูดิ้น เข็มอาจจะไปทิ่มโดนที่อื่นได้
I know that you don't like being restrained when you get vaccination. But we have to do that to prevent you getting hurt from the needle.
2. มีสบู่เหลวเหลืออยู่ในขวดน้อยมาก จนกดไม่ออก แม่เลยเติมน้ำลงไป เพื่อเพิ่มปริมาณ จะได้กดออกมาใช้ไปก่อนได้
There' s so little of liquid soap in the bottle that I can' t pump it out. So i fill some water in the bottle,then
i can still pump it out before refilling some liquid soap in the bottle.
3. รอยแทงเข็มฉีดยา ใช้ needle mark ได้ไหมคะ
4. รอยเข็มฉีดยาจะอยู่ ซักวันสองวัน แล้วก็จะหายไป
There will be a needle mark for a few days and then it will be gone .

What matter do they quarrel?

-> ได้ครับ  ขอเพิ่มอีกแบบนะครับ  But we have to.  If you keep flailing around, you or people around you may get pricked.

"flail(vi,vt) = แขนขาดีดดิ้น ถีบไปมา (ทั้งในกรณีร้องไห้ แขนขาถีบดิ้นไปมา  หรือในแบบดีเช่น ร้องเพลง เต้นแขนขา ส่ายไปมา ก็ได้ครับ)

2. มีสบู่เหลวเหลืออยู่ในขวดน้อยมาก จนกดไม่ออก แม่เลยเติมน้ำลงไป เพื่อเพิ่มปริมาณ จะได้กดออกมาใช้ไปก่อนได้

-> แบบคุณรุจาภาก็ได้เหมือนกันครับ  หรือลองดูแบบนี้นะครับ The liquid soap doesn't come out because there is too little of it left in the bottle.  I have to add some water to mix with remaining soap.  Then we can use every drop of it.

หรือจะใช้ "dregs"(plural n.) = ของเหลวต่าง ๆ ที่เหลือก้นขวด,ก้นแก้ว  เช่น  I have to add water to the soap dregs, (mix them together) and we can then pump more soap out again. 

3. รอยแทงเข็มฉีดยา ใช้ needle mark ได้ไหมคะ

-> ได้ครับ

4. รอยเข็มฉีดยาจะอยู่ ซักวันสองวัน แล้วก็จะหายไป
There will be a needle mark for a few days and then it will be gone .

->  ได้ครับ  หรือจะเป็นอีกแบบคือ  The needle mark will last for a few days before it's gone.

5. เค้าทะเลาะกันเรื่องอะไร
What matter do they quarrel?

->  ไม่ต้องมี matter ก็ได้ครับเป็น  What are they quarreling about?

6. บางทีคนอยู่ด้วยกันก็มีไม่เข้าใจกัน ทำไม่ถูกใจกันได้ ต้องค่อยๆคุยกันและรับฟัง

->  ได้ครับ  หรือจะใช้คำว่า "tiff(s)"(n.)  = มีปากเสียงกันเล็ก ๆ น้อยๆ เหมือนลิ้นกับฟัน  ใช้กับคู่รัก คนที่อยู่ด้วยกัน หรือเพื่อน  เช่น  Sometimes people who live together can have a tiff.  The best way is to be open and listen to each other.

7. วันนี้ไปทำฟัน หวังว่าแม่คงไม่ต้องล๊อคตัวหนูนะ อย่าดิ้นหนี

-> ได้ครับ  เรื่อง "ดิ้น"  แบบดิ้นให้หลุดจากอะไรบางอย่าง  แต่ไม่ใช่ดิ้นแบบฟาดงวงฟาดงา แขนขาไปหมดแบบ flail  ใช้ "wriggle"  ก็ได้ครับเป็น  Today I hope I don't have to restrain you while you have a dental checkup.  Just don't wriggle away.

  

8. ตรงที่ฉีดยายังระบมอยู่เลย
The area around needle mark still aches.

->  รอยฉีดยาที่ปวดระบบ อาจจะใช้ hurt หรือ sore(adj.) นะครับ เพราะ ache จะหมายถึงปวดแบบ ปวดหน่วง ปวดเรื้อรัง อย่างปวดหัว ปวดฟัน หรือ ปวดเมื่อย  มากกว่าครับ 

ส่วน "ตรงที่ฉีดยา"  หากไม่พูดถึงรอยเข็ม (needle mark)  ก็เป็น  "jab/injection site"   เช่น  The site still hurts/ is still sore.  ครับ

1. ทำผิดไปแล้ว ไม่ใช่แค่พูดว่าขอโทษสิ ต้องรู้สึกสำนึกผิด เสียใจ และต้องตั้งใจว่าจะไม่ทำผิดอีก

When you do something wrong. You not only say "I'm sorry" , but also feel sorry and intend not to do it again. 

2. หนูไม่ได้แสดงให้พ่อแม่เห็นเลยนะว่าหนูสำนึกผิด

You haven't shown us that you feel sorry about it.

3. ถ้าหนูไม่ให้แม่ทำ/แสดงให้ดู (ว่าวิธีการเล่นเป็นยังไง) แล้วหนูจะเล่นเป็นได้ยังไงล่ะ

If you don't let me show you how to play , how can you know ?/how can you play?

4. วิธีการเล่นเกมส์ตึกถล่ม คือ ให้ผลัดกันทอยลูกเต๋า และผลัดกันดึงเอาแท่งไม้ออกมา ใครทำตึกถล่มลงมาก่อน แพ้

To play the tumbling tower is taking turns tossing a dice and pulling a wooden block out . Who make the tower come tumbling down first will lose.

5. พ่อไล่ลบเกมส์จากtablet เพราะถ้ามีเกมส์ในเครื่องมากไป มันจะหน่วงเครื่อง ทำให้เครื่องทำงานช้า

Daddy is deleting some games out of the tablet. Because too many games in tablet will slow it down.

6. หนูสูงครึ่งหนึ่งของแม่แล้วนะ

Your height is half of my height.  

7. มีเค้กอยู่ 1 ก้อน จะแบ่งให้คน 4 คนเท่าๆกัน ก็ต้องตัดให้ได้ 4 ชิ้น แต่ละคนจะได้ 1/4 ชิ้น

There is a cake and you want to give to 4 people. You just cut it into 4 equal pieces. So each person will get fourth of it.

ยินดีครับคุณรุจาภา  ที่ถามเพิ่มลองดูตามนี้นะครับ:

1. ทำผิดไปแล้ว ไม่ใช่แค่พูดว่าขอโทษสิ ต้องรู้สึกสำนึกผิด เสียใจ และต้องตั้งใจว่าจะไม่ทำผิดอีก

-> ลองดูแบบนี้นะครับ  When you do something wrong, you have to not only say "I'm sorry"  but also feel sorry and promise not to do it again.  

 

แต่มันมี sorry 2 ตัว ซึ่งจริง ๆ "สำนึกผิด"  ใช้อีกคำได้ตรงตัวคือ  "regret"(vt.,n)  ดังนั้นก็เป็นอย่างนี้จะดีกว่า   When you do something wrong, you have to not only say "I'm sorry" but also regret it and promise not to do it again.

 

"not only" ใช้ประโยคหลักที่มีประโยครอง จะมีรูปแบบทั่ว ๆ ไป เป็นอย่างนี้นะครับ   "verbช่วย + not only + verb แท้.......  but also + verb แท้"  

และอีกอย่าง ในประโยคอาจจะลองใช้ "promise"  (แทน intend) ดูเพราะจะหมายถึงตั้งใจทำ หรือ ไม่ทำอะไรบางอย่าง   ซึ่งจะต่างกับ "intend"  ที่หมายถึงวางแผน หรือคิดไว้ว่าจะทำหรือไม่ทำบางอย่างครับ

 

 

2. หนูไม่ได้แสดงให้พ่อแม่เห็นเลยนะว่าหนูสำนึกผิด

You haven't shown us that you feel sorry about it.

->  ได้ครับ หรือจะเป็น regret ก็ได้เป็น  You haven't shown you have regrets about it.

 

3. ถ้าหนูไม่ให้แม่ทำ/แสดงให้ดู (ว่าวิธีการเล่นเป็นยังไง) แล้วหนูจะเล่นเป็นได้ยังไงล่ะ

If you don't let me show you how to play , how can you know ?/how can you play?

-> ได้ครับ ส่วนประโยคหลังหากเป็น play คือเล่นอะไรบางอย่าง ก็น่าจะมี object หรือ with ขึ้นอยู่กับเล่นอะไรนะครับ เช่น  how can you play the game/ play with the toys (yourself)?    ส่วนหากเป็น know ก็ต่อท้ายด้วย how to play it/ play with it? ก็ใช้ได้ครับ

 

หรือจะใช้เป็น will be able ก็ได้นะครับเป็น  how will you be able to play with it?

 

 

4. วิธีการเล่นเกมส์ตึกถล่ม คือ ให้ผลัดกันทอยลูกเต๋า และผลัดกันดึงเอาแท่งไม้ออกมา ใครทำตึกถล่มลงมาก่อน แพ้

->  อันนี้ไม่ต้องมี of ก็ใช้ได้ครับ   หรือจะเป็น  You're half as tall as me ก็ได้ครับ

Remorseful -adj- feeling sad and quitly

1. When you do somthing wrong, you should not simply say "I am sorry". You have to be remorseful for what you have done and promise that you will never do it again.

กล้วก็อาจจะต่อด้วย

We say sorry when we feel it. We never say what we won't feel. Then say sorry to .........

สิ่งสำคัญคือการโน้มน้าวใจให้เด็กค่อยๆคิดตาม จนเค้าสำนึกได้

2. You haven't shown your remorse to us. / You haven't shown us that you feel guilty/ remorseful for what you have done.
