ระวังการใช้ sometime กับ sometimes นะค่ะ ในภาษาไทย อาจจะแปลคล้ายกัน แต่

sometime = at an unspectified time = สำหรับจิ๊บ แปลว่า คราวหน้า โอกาสหน้า 
   Come to see me sometime. - ถ้ามีโอกาส ก็มาเยี่ยมเราด้วยนะ

sometimes = now and then, occasionally 
   Sometimes I want to disappear. - บางครั้งฉันอยากจะหายตัวได้

    จิ๊บไม่แน่ใจว่า ภาษาไทยแปล mind wander ว่าอะไร สำหรับจิ๊บ มันคือ การเหม่อลอย จะออกไปทาง negative หน่อยๆ เพราะมันจะเป็นอาการของคนที่ ไม่อยากทำอะไร แล้วก็ไม่โฟกัสในสิ่งที่ตัวเองทำอยู่ 

    ใช้คำว่า zone out หรือ space out จะดีกว่า ดีกรีความแรงจะน้อยกว่า mind wander หน่อยค่ะ

แต่ในกรณีประโยคที่คุณรัชนีถามมา จิ๊บจะพูดว่า
    Auntie was completely unaware that you put your legs on her lap. So, she didn't tell you to get your legs off her lap.
    Auntie didn't realize that you put your legs on her lap. So, she didn't say anything to you.

5. หนูกับร้านของเล่นเป็นของคู่กันจริงๆ เลย ถ้าเห็นเป็นต้องแวะทุกที
    You are so attracted to toys. Whenever you see a toy store, you can't resist getting in there.

    three-fifth  - ตรงเศษ จะใช้เลขจำนวน ตรงส่วน จะใช้ลำดับที่ ค่ะ  

ยกเว้น ส่วน 2 จะใช้ half - 1/2 one-half    
          ส่วน 4 จะใช้ quarter - 1/4 one-quarter, 2/4 two-quarters แต่บางทีก็เห็นคนใช้ forth ค่ะ

    ถ้ากำลังดูอยู่ใช้  seeing  หรือ   watching   ค่ะ

->  1.1. หากเป็น "ไปโรงหนัง" ก็ใช้ see the movie  ซึ่ง = go to the movie;  แต่ไปถึงโรงหนังแล้ว "ดูหนังที่ฉายในโรงหนัง" = "watch the movie" 

     1.2. ดู concert/ละครเวที/การแสดง  จะนิยมใช้ "see"

     1.3. ดูหนังทีวี/ดูทีวี/DVD/CD  ใช้ "watch"   แต่หาก "เห็น/ดู สิ่งที่ปรากฎบนทีวี"  ใช้  "see"  เช่น  I just saw a new commercial on TV last night.

 คำที่แปลตรงตัวว่า แยกกันไป (หลังจากเดินมาด้วยกัน) ใช้ "part company (with somebody)"  จะหมายถึงตามที่ถามมาครับ  นอกจากนั้นยังหมายถึง "เห็นต่าง/มีความเห็นไม่ตรงกัน"  (= disagree) ด้วยเช่น   "On this issue, this is where we part company.  Now you're on your own."  =  ในเรื่องนี้ เราเห็นต่างกัน  และตอนนี้เธอจะทำอะไรกับความคิดของเธอก็แล้วแต่)

 

4. คุณน้านั่งเพลินลืมตัวไปแล้วว่าไม่ให้หนูวางขาบนตัก   ( ใช้ mind wander ได้ไหมค่ะ)

"be engrossed in something"  = ทำอะไรบางอย่าง จนเพลิน ลืมสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นรอบๆ ข้าง รอบ ๆตัว ( = be paying so much attention to something you are doing, that you don't notice what is happening around you)  เช่น  

  - He was so engrossed in what he was doing that he didn't even hear the door ring bell. (= เขาทำบางอย่างอยู่จนเพลิน จนไม่ได้ยินแม้กระทั่งเสียงกริ่งประตู)

5. หนูกับร้านของเล่นเป็นของคู่กันจริงๆ เลย ถ้าเห็นเป็นต้องแวะทุกที

->  You and toy shops are really made for each other.  You stop by the store every time. (stop by = แวะ เข้าไปในร้าน)

(คน/สิ่งของ)เป็นของคู่กัน จริง ๆ เลย  มีสำนวนที่ใกล้เคียงมากคือ  "made for each other"    ซึ่งสำนวนนี้จะใช้กับคนที่เป็นแฟนกันในความหมายทำนองว่า "เกิดมาคู่กัน"  หรืออะไรในความหมายนี้  รวมทั้งหมายถึงสิ่งของที่ เข้ากันได้ดีมาก ๆ (= perfectly matched) ก็ได้ครับ  เช่น: 

  - Those cold drinks and hot, spicy food seem to have been made for each other. (= เครื่องดื่มเย็น ๆ แบบนั้นกับอาหารที่เผ็ดร้อนเหมือนกันถูกสร้างขึ้นมาให้คู่กันจริง ๆ )

"place" = (หนังสือ/ข้อความ/สุนทรพจน์) ตำแหน่งที่อ่าน หรือที่หยุดอยู่ครั้งหลังสุด   เช่น  We'll stop reading here and use bookmark to mark our place. (= เราจะหยุดอ่านหน้านี้แล้วใช้ที่คั่นหนังสือเพื่อจะได้รู้ว่าอ่านถึงตรงไหน)

9. จะพูดว่า  เศษ 3 ส่วน 5  (3/5)   พูดอย่างไรค่ะ

2.  Because you're still young and need healthy diet.   แปลว่า   ต้องการอาหารที่ควบคุมน้ำหนักหรือเปล่าค่ะ

     ต้องเป็น   don't need healty diet.  หรือเปล่าค่ะ

->  Diet หากแปลว่า "ควบคุมน้ำหนัก"  จะใช้ว่า  "go/be on diet"   แต่ "diet"  ก็ยังแปลได้อีกอย่างที่ใช้กันบ่อย ๆโดยเฉพาะในทางโภชนาการ หรือเป็นทางการหน่อยคือ  "อาหาร ที่รับประทาน" (= kind of food we eat)   เช่น โดยใช้  ง่าย ๆ เหมือนกันเป็น   "eat/have +adj.+ diet"  เช่น  eat vegetarian/healthy/poor/fatty diet   ครับ  

 

3.  ขอถามเพิ่มค่ะ 

    ดูหนังได้ยิน  I need my company.  ประมาณว่า  ฉันต้องการกลุ่มของตัวเองก็คือต้องการเพื่อน   เป็นคำแสลงใช่ไหมคะ

->  อันนี้ตอบแบบไม่รู้บริบทชัดเจนนะครับ  company  หมายถึง "คนอื่น ๆ ที่เราอยู่ด้วย"  ใช้เป็นแบบ uncountable noun  คือ "ไม่เติม s"   ดังนั้น  I need my company.  =  ฉันต้องการคนซักคนมาอยู่ใกล้ ๆ ฉัน/มาเป็นเพื่่อนฉัน  ครับ  หรืออีกประโยคเช่น:

-  My mommy will go abroad next week and she has asked my aunt to come and keep me company. (= แม่จะไปต่างประเทศอาทิตย์หน้าเลยได้บอกให้ป้ามาอยู่เป็นเพื่อน) 

- You should keep company with good students at school. ( = ลูกควรจะคบเพื่อนที่เป็นนักเรียนที่ประพฤติตัวดีที่โรงเรียนนะ)

 

7. คำว่า   people champion  ความหมายจะออกว่าเป็นแบบไหนค่ะ

-> ผมไม่ทราบบริบทอันนี้เหมือนกัน แต่น่าจะไปในทำนองชนะการแข่งขัน แล้วเป็นแชมเปี้ยนในใจของทุกคน มั้งครับ

ใช้คำว่า "company" เหมือนกันแต่ต่างรูปแบบก็ต่างกันนิดหน่อยคือ keep someone company = อยู่เป็นเพื่อน (เพื่อไม่ให้เหงา) 

ส่วน  keep company with someone  เป็นการใช้ในความหมาย "เพื่อนที่คบ" (= friends) ซึ่งจะใช้ได้ในหลาย ๆ รูปแบบ เช่น  be in good(bad)company/ the company you have(keep) / etc.   ความหมายเท่ากับ เพื่อน ครับ
