การใช้ dress up ขออนุญาตอธิบายค่ะ

ขออนุญาตทำความเข้าใจกับคำศัพท์คำว่า dress up นะคะ เห็นว่าใช้กันบ่อยค่ะ

 

 

 

การใช้กริยา dress up ซึ่งเป็น phrasal verb จะไม่ได้แปลว่า การสวมใส่เสื้อผ้าทั่วไปนะคะ

การสวมใส่เสื้อผ้าโดยใช้กริยา dress up เนี่ย จะเป็นการ

 

1. แต่งตัวสุภาพ ในโอกาสพิเศษ เช่น ไปงานแต่งงาน ไปงานฉลอง ไปเดท (แบบว่าต้องแต่งดัวดูดีอ่ะค่ะ)

ex. Let mommy dress you up. Tonight we are going to wedding party.

      You should dress up. We are going to the farmal party.

 

2. แต่งแฟนซี ใส่เสื้อผ้าที่ปกติเราไม่ใส่กัน

ex. Small children usually love dressing up in their mothers' clothes.

      He dressed up as a cowboy for the party.
 
ถ้าเป็นการแต่งตัวโดยปกติทั่วไป จะใช้คำว่า get dress, put clothes on, put on your clothes..
 
สำหรับกับเด็กๆนะคะ ถ้าเราเป็นคนที่แต่งตัวให้ลูก เราสามารถใช้ dress เป็นกริยาได้เลย
เพราะ dress สามารถแปลว่า แต่งตัวให้ ได้ด้วยค่ะ
ex. Let your daddy dress you after taking a shower.
