เรื่องของกลิ่น

คำว่า odour  กับ smell ใช้ต่างกันอย่างไร

แล้วถ้าเป็นกลิ่นเหม็น หรือหอมเหมือนกัน แต่มาจากวัตถุดิบที่ต่างกันจะใช้ต่างหรือเหมือนกัน

2. กลิ่นเหม็น (กลิ่นทอดปลาทูเค็ม,กลิ่นกะปิ,)

3. กลิ่นเหม็น (กลิ่นเน่า)

3. กลิ่นหอม (น้ำหอม)

Odour คือกลิ่นค่ะ กลิ่นตัว กลิ่นเต่าตุตุ ก็คือ Body odour
เมื่อเราใช้คำว่า odour ปกติแล้วคำนี้จะส่งกลิ่นมาแรงมากมากค่ะ 555 น่าจะไปทางกลิ่นเน่าๆมากกว่า
odour เป็น noun ค่ะ
แต่ smell อาจจะเป็น noun หรือ verb ก็ได้ค่ะ
smell นี่ใช้กับกลิ่นหอมหรือเหม็นก็ได้ค่ะ

2. ถ้าแม่ค้าทำกับข้าวที่ส่งกลิ่นรุนแรงเราอาจพูดว่า It is smelly
3. กลิ่นเน่ามาก อาจจะพูดว่า It smells really bad
4. ถ้าเดินไปเจอเพื่อนสาว แล้วหล่อนกลิ่นตัวแบบว่าหอม เราอาจพูดว่า Your perfume smells very nice หรือว่า You smell very nice ค่ะ
5. ดอกไม้ดอกนั้นห๊อม หอมเนอะ พูดว่า That flower smells good หรือว่า It smells very nice ตามเคยจ้า

I can smell something rotten in the fridge แม่ได้กลิ่นอะไร เน่าๆในตู้เย็นนะลูก
Stink ก็แอบเหม็นเหมือนกันค่ะ ประมาณว่า Baby your feet are stink! ลูกจ๋า เท้าหนูส่งกลิ่นเหม็นอับเน่ามากเลย 555

แถมๆ ค่ะ แม่ค้าผัดกระเพาอยู่แล้วกลิ่นแสบจมูกมาก เราอาจจะพูดว่า That smell is very pungent, it hurts my nose ก้ได้นะค่ะ

ความหมายใกล้เคียงกันค่ะ แต่การนำไปใช้ใช้ smell นิยมใช้มากกว่า...
smell good/ smell bad
เอาเป็นว่ายกตัวอย่างของคำ odour ดีกว่าเนอะเผื่อจะเข้าใจง่ายกว่า
odour หมายถึงกลิ่นที่ออกจากร่างกายจากตัวมากกว่าค่ะ
แต่คนไม่นิยมใช้กันด้วยนะคะ...
