1.  Aunt got the car window tint installed yesterday. Don't roll down the window until the tint is fully dry.

 We will roll down the window for the next 7 days. 

    คุณน้าติดฟิล์มรถมาเมื่อวานนี้  อย่าเปิดประจกจนกว่าฟิล์มจะแห้งสนิม  เราจะเปิดกระจกได้ในอีก 7 วัน

2. Is this a new game?  Let me see it first if this game is for children. I want to make sure this game is appropriate for you.

   เกมส์ใหม่เหรอ  ขอดูสิ เป็นเกมสำหรับเด็กหรือเปล่า   จะได้มั่นใจได้ว่าเกมส์นี้เหมาะกับหนู

3. I have no idea   &  I don't know  ใช้ต่างกันไหม

->  Aunt got the tinted window films installed on her car windows.  Don't roll down the windows until the films are fully dry.  We will (หรือ can) roll down the windows after 7 days.  (หรือ  We will (หรือ can) not roll down the windows for the next 7 days. ครับ)

 ฟิล์มกรองแสงรถยนต์มีชื่อเรียกหลายอย่างเช่น  (car) tinted window film, solar control film หรือ sun control film ครับ

 

2. Is this a new game?  Let me see it first if this game is for children. I want to make sure this game is appropriate for you.

   เกมส์ใหม่เหรอ  ขอดูสิ เป็นเกมสำหรับเด็กหรือเปล่า   จะได้มั่นใจได้ว่าเกมส์นี้เหมาะกับหนู

3. I have no idea   &  I don't know  ใช้ต่างกันไหม

->  เป็นคำถามดีครับ  ทั่ว ๆ ไปก็ไม่ต่างกันครับ ส่วนใหญ่ใช้แทนกันได้ แต่มีความต่างกันนิดหน่อยตรงเจตนาคนพูดที่:

 

1.  I have no idea. จะมี degree เน้นในความไม่รู้มากกว่า และบางทีก็ใช้คำขยายมาขยายเช่น  "I haven't the slightest idea." (ภาษาพูด) = ทำนองว่า ไม่รู้เลยแม้แต่นิดเดียว 

2.  I have no idea.  หากพูดแบบเน้นในทำนองน้ำเสียงหนัก และลากยาวหน่อย  จะหมายถึง "ไม่รู้ (และก็ไม่ต้องถามต่อ, ไม่อยากบอก)"  แต่หากพูดแบบน้ำเสียงธรรมดาก็ = I don't know. 

3.  หากพูดถึงคน ส่วนใหญ่จะใช้ I don't know มากกว่า  เช่น  "Do you know Sam? "  "No, I don't know him."    เพราะ "have no idea" ตามรากศัพท์จะหมายถึง = don't know the facts/ don't have understanding about something, based on knowledge about it

We will (หรือ can) roll down the windows after 7 days.   เราจะเปิดกระจกหลัง 7 วันไปแล้ว

We will (หรือ can) not roll down the windows for the next 7 days. เราจะไม่เปิดกระจกใน 7 วันจากนี้

ทั้งสองประโยคนี้  จะมีความหมายว่า จะไม่เปิดกระจกไปอีก 7  วัน

 

 แต่ถ้า  I will come back home in 2 days.  จะกลับบ้านภายใน 2 วัน

 มีความหมายว่า  อาจจะกลับมาก่อนในวันนี้เลย หรือ พรุงนี้ก็ได้  แต่จะไม่เกิน 2 วันจากนี้

 เคยเห็น  I will come back home in the next 2 days.  มีความหมายเหมือน in 2 days  หรือเปล่า

 

กำลังสับสนกับคำพวกนี้ค่ะ

"after" กับ "in" มีความหมายใกล้เคียงกันมากโดย:

1.  "after" =  หลังเวลาที่พูดถึง (ไม่ก่อนเวลาที่พูดถึง)

2. "in"  =  เมื่อเวลาที่พูดมาถึง (อาจจะก่อน หรือ หลังเวลานั้น ๆ บ้าง)

 

ประโยค I will come back home in 2 days. ก็แปลได้ว่าจะกลับบ้านอีก 2 วัน อาจจะก่อน หรือ หลังได้บ้าง (บ้าง แบบเป็นชั่วโมง +/-)  

 

ส่วน  I will come back home in the next 2 days.  ความหมายจะต่างกันไป โดยจะหมายความว่า "ฉันจะกลับบ้านภายในช่วง 2 วันข้างหน้านี้"   คือ "in the next  2 days" = "during/over the next 2 days"  คือจะกลับเมื่อไหร่ก็ได้ภายในเวลาที่พูดจบจนถึงอีก 2 วันข้างหน้า   ไม่ใช่  "at the end of 2 days" หรือ  "in 2 days"       อย่างในตัวอย่างอื่น ๆ เช่น:

 

-  You have to spend all your available time to key in all the data in the next 2 months (= during/over the next 2 months).  = ในช่วง 2 เดือนข้างหน้า  คุณต้องคีย์ข้อมูลทั้งหมดลงในฐานข้อมูล

 

-  There will be rain in the next 3 days (= during/over the next 3 days).  = จะมีฝนในช่วง 3 วันข้างหน้า

 

 

** during มีความหมายเหมือนกับ over **

ส่วน "for the next 7 days"  ก็มีความหมายเหมือนกับ  "during/over the next 7 days" เหมือนกัน  ดังนั้นหากเราพูดว่า:

 

- We will roll down the window for the next 7 days. จะเท่ากับ  We will roll down the window during/over the next 7 days.  

 

ซึ่งหากจะใช้ "for the next 7 days"  ก็เลยต้องเป็นประโยคปฏิเสธเป็น  "We will not roll down the windows for the next 7 days."  ถึงจะตรงกับความหมายที่ต้องการสื่อสารครับ
