Don’t use the handkerchief otherwise your face will be covered
with snot when you use it to wipe your face.
Kid : (takes the tissue to blow his nose) Phooooo
Mom : Look up!/ Put your head back(*2). Let me look at your nose to make sure it’s clean.
Kid : (looks up) All gone? Any left?/ Is there anything left? /Is there any snot left?
Mom : No . I can see there is a bit left. It’s dry and stuck inside so
I’ll role the tissue into a point(*3) so that I can put it in your nose easily.
Kid : (moves away because it tickles)
Mom : Stay still ! Don’t move. I can’t do that if you keep moving.
(mom hugs the kid tightly) Hold on! I’m going to finish soon.
It will take a minute./ It won’t take long(*4). Trust me. Be still.
(then kid is still and lets mom do it)
At last!(*5) I’m done with cleaning your nose.
O.K all gone. Your nose is clean now.
Please remember that the handkerchief is for wiping your face
when you are sweating or after washing your face only. O.K?
Kid : Got it.
Mom : Now you understood what I said. Thank you.
