Mom : Look at the windshield/windscreen of the taxi. It’s almost smashed. It’s badly cracked.

Kid : How did it happen?

Mom : Maybe a stone hit it . I mean an other car might have kicked/thrown up a stone.

Kid: Will the broken glass fall on him (driver)

Mom : Maybe. It ‘s so dangerous because if he drives on a bumpy road, it might break right away, and he can’t see out properly.

Kid : Why doesn’t he replace it?

Mom : Because he is waiting until it cracks more and breaks completely./ until it gets worse and he has to change it.
