1 Put the lead end of the pencil in the sharpener. Keep the pencil and sharpener in a straight line.
2 Twist the pencil clockwise. Sharpen slowly and don't press too hard.
3 Repeat until you feel less resistance to twisting, or you are satisfied with the sharpness.(Make sure the pencil's tip is secure and will not fall out when pressure is applied)
4 Pull the pencil out and brush or blow away the shavings. Make sure to blow away from your or other's faces, unless you want stinging eyes.
5 Some pencils may be too wide to put in the pencil sharpener. In that case, you may need to use a knife or teeth, but be careful not to swallow the shavings.
