   คุณพ่อลาพักร้อน 2 วัน ทำให้คุณพ่อมีวันหยุดทั้งหมด 6 วันติดต่อกัน

    ถ้าหนูแปรงฟันไม่สะอาดพอ ก็จะมีคราบอาหารติดอยู่ที่ฟัน ฟันก็จะเหลือง

      ดูหนังรอบกี่โมง

11. อ่านหนังสือเจอ  turn down the television / turn up the television =  เบาเสียงทีวี / เพิ่มเสียงทีวี

      ใช้ได้ใช่ไหมค่ะ     ไม่เคยได้ยินค่ะ     ปกติใช้แต่  turn down / up the volume.

12.  คิวรถมอเตอร์ไซด์  เรียกว่า   motorcycle stop  ได้ไหมค่ะ

แชร์นะครับคุณรัชนี

1. A few cars pull over ahead us.

    มีรถ 2 - 3 คันจอดข้างทางอยู่ข้างหน้าเรา

->  หากเป็นจอดอยู่แล้วข้างหน้า น่าจะใช้ park มากกว่า pull over ซึ่งแปลว่า ชลอรถให้หยุด นะครับ  เป็น  A few cars were parked in front/ ahead of us. 

บางบริบท ahead ก็อาจจะไม่ได้หมายถึง in front of  ตรง ๆ แต่จะหมายถึง ระยะทางที่เลยออกไปข้างหน้าอีกหน่อย ไม่ใช่ข้างหน้าเราเลย 

2. หนังเรื่องนี้ทำเงินได้มาก / หนังเรื่องนี้ทำเงินได้มากที่สุด

->  ใช้วลี "make money"  ก็ได้ครับเป็น   This movie made a lot of money. /  This movie made the most money.

หรือจะใช้ "gross"(vt.) = ทำเงิน ทำกำไร  ที่ใช้บ่อย ๆ เวลาพูดถึงธุรกิจหนังก็ได้  เป็น  This movie grossed lots of money./  This is top-grossing (highest-grossing) movie. 

"top-grossing หรือ highest-grossing"(adj.) =  ทำเงินได้มากที่สุด  (ใช้วางไว้น่า noun)

 3. กระแสของหนังเรื่องนี้ดี / ไม่ดี

-> แบบนึงคือ  The movie has got good reviews./ The movie has got bad reviews.

หากหมายถึงประสบความสำเร็จ / ไม่ประสบความสำเร็จ ก็ใช้  hit(n.) หรือ  flop(n.)  ก็ได้ครับเป็น  This movie is a hit. /  This movie is a flop.  

หนัง / หนังสือ หรือ สินค้าอื่น ๆ ที่ประสบความสำเร็จสูง  ใช้อีกคำคือ  "blockbuster"(n.)  ก็ได้เป็น  This is a blockbuster movie. หรือ  This movie is a blockbuster.    อีกอย่างเช่น  Many people are expecting a new blockbuster product from Apple.

   แม่กลับถึงบ้านก่อนหนูแป๊ปหนึ่ง

-> ได้ครับ

   คุณพ่อลาพักร้อน 2 วัน ทำให้คุณพ่อมีวันหยุดทั้งหมด 6 วันติดต่อกัน

->  ได้ครับ (have น่าจะพิมพ์ผิดจาก has นะครับ)

6. If you don't brush your teeth well enough  so you have left plaque on your teeth, your teeth will become yellow.

    ถ้าหนูแปรงฟันไม่สะอาดพอ ก็จะมีคราบอาหารติดอยู่ที่ฟัน ฟันก็จะเหลือง

->  If you don't brush your teeth well/thoroughly enough, plaque will form on your teeth and they will turn yellow.

7. How close are they?

    พวกเขาอยู่ใกล้แค่ไหน

->  ได้ครับ หรือ close together  ก็ได้ครับ

8. Are they getting close to us?

    พวกเขาใกล้จะมาถึงเราแล้วใช่ไหม

->  ได้ครับ

9. Did the teacher teach you how to pronounce a word?

    คุณครูสอนเรื่องการออกเสียงหรือเปล่า

->  ได้ครับ

10. What time session did you see the movie?

      ดูหนังรอบกี่โมง

->  What time are we going to see the movie?

11. อ่านหนังสือเจอ  turn down the television / turn up the television =  เบาเสียงทีวี / เพิ่มเสียงทีวี

      ใช้ได้ใช่ไหมค่ะ     ไม่เคยได้ยินค่ะ     ปกติใช้แต่  turn down / up the volume.

->  ใช้ได้ครับ  จริง ๆ ทั่วๆ ไป ในการพูดจะใช้  turn down/up the television (radio)  มากกว่า volume ด้วยครับ   เหมือนกับที่พูดว่า turn it up/down  ซึ่ง it ในที่นี้จะหมายถึง TV/radio/air con/etc.  ก็ได้ครับ

12.  คิวรถมอเตอร์ไซด์  เรียกว่า   motorcycle stop  ได้ไหมค่ะ

->  ได้ครับ แต่ควรเติม taxi เข้าไปหลัง motorcycle  และจะใช้ stand (=ที่ๆรถสาธารณะ หรือ แท็กซี่จอดรอผู้โดยสาร) แทน stop ก็ได้เหมือนกันครับ

1.  ตอนแรกเข้าใจว่า  pull over  คือ จอดข้างทางแบบจอดไว้แล้ว    เลยไปหาความหมายมา

       If a vehicle pulls over, it moves to the side of the road and stops:  แสดงว่า   เป็นการขับรถไปจอดข้างทาง

6.  turn & become  คือ ถ้า turn คือ แค่เปลี่ยนสภาพบางอย่างไป      แต่  become  จะเปลี่ยนสภาพเป็นอีกอย่างหนึ่ง 

     เช่น ที่ใช้อยู่  -  It will become infected.  แผลจะติดเชื้อเป็นหนอง

                       -  It will turn yellow.   กล้วยจะเป็นสีเหลือง

      พูดคำไหนคำนั้นนะ

14. It is a traditional belief. If we don't belive it, never mind, but we should not show disrespect. In my opinion it can help us with our mind, we will feel better.

     มันเป็นความเชื่อ ถ้าเราไม่เชื่อ ก้ไม่เป็นไร แต่เราไม่ควรลบหลู่  ในความเห็นของแม่ จะช่วยในเรื่องของจิตใจมากกว่า เราจะรู้สึกสบายใจขึ้น

15. ถ้าอาม่าอยากให้หนูทำ หนูก็ทำตามนั้น อาม่าจะได้สบายใจ  มันก็ไม่ได้เสียหายอะไร

      If grandma wants you to do it, do as she say, she will feel better. OK? nothing is bad.

16. The shuttlecock have passed near your head.

       ลูกแบดเฉี่ยวหัวไปนิดเดียวเอง

1.  ตอนแรกเข้าใจว่า  pull over  คือ จอดข้างทางแบบจอดไว้แล้ว    เลยไปหาความหมายมา

14. It is a traditional belief. If we don't belive it, never mind, but we should not show disrespect. In my opinion it can help us with our mind, we will feel better.

     มันเป็นความเชื่อ ถ้าเราไม่เชื่อ ก้ไม่เป็นไร แต่เราไม่ควรลบหลู่  ในความเห็นของแม่ จะช่วยในเรื่องของจิตใจมากกว่า เราจะรู้สึกสบายใจขึ้น

->>  หากเป็นความเชื่อแบบไสยศาสตร์ ก็ใช้เป็น superstitious belief ก็ได้นะครับ  ประโยคหน้าก็ใช้ได้ครับ  ส่วนประโยคหลังลองดูอย่างนี้นะครับ  In my opinion, it provides emotional support and helps us feel better.

ขอแชร์ประโยคแรกอีกแบบนะครับเป็น  It's a superstitious belief (they have).  If you don't hold it (= belief), you should not make fun of them.  

หรือ  If you don't believe it is true, you should not make fun of it (= belief).

  

 

 

15. ถ้าอาม่าอยากให้หนูทำ หนูก็ทำตามนั้น อาม่าจะได้สบายใจ  มันก็ไม่ได้เสียหายอะไร

      If grandma wants you to do it, do as she say, she will feel better. OK? nothing is bad.

->>  nothing is bad  น่าจะเป็น  OK? there's nothing wrong. จะดีกว่านะครับ

 

16. The shuttlecock have passed near your head.

       ลูกแบดเฉี่ยวหัวไปนิดเดียวเอง

->>  ใช้ "miss"(vt.,vi)  จะตรงความหมายของประโยคนี้มากกว่าครับเป็น   The shuttlecock just (narrowly) missed your head.  

 

หากเป็นเฉี่ยวแบบโดน หรือ แฉลบโดน  ก็ใช้ "graze"(vt.)  เช่น  The golf ball just grazed my arm.  (= ลูกกอล์ฟแฉลบแขนฉัน)

graze  ยังมีความหมายถึง ทำให้ถลอก  เหมือนกับ "scrape" ด้วยนะครับ  เช่น  I grazed/scraped my knees in the fall.

แว๊ปมาแชร์ Pull over นะค่ะ

pull over ก็คล้ายกับ stop หรือ park นะแหละค่ะ แต่ที่ต่างกันคือ pull over จะเป็นการเน้นว่า เอารถไปจอดริมถนนหรือข้างทาง 

ซึ่งในกรณีที่คุณรัชนีพูดมา เห็นรถจอดแบบสนิทอยู่แล้ว ไม่ีมี action ที่ทำให้เห็นว่า เอารถไปจอดริมถนน... ไม่ใช่ว่า เห็นเขากำลังเลี้ยวเข้าข้างทาง, กำลังดับเครื่อง, หรือ กำลังเดินออกจากรถ นะค่ะ เลยใช้ pull over แล้วไม่ make sense นะค่ะ

ที่ใช้กันบ่อยเลยคือ ตำรวจโบกให้จอด The highway patrol pulled over the speeding motorist.


อย่าง park กับ stop ก็ต่างกันค่ะ ถ้า park ก็คือ จอดยาว ถ้า stop ก็จอดชั่วคราวประเดียวประด๋าว...
